DetailThe Gibson Parlor Rosewood EC is a small-bodied acoustic cutaway guitar with lots of personality and an even bigger sound. With a small body profile reminiscent of a paired-down SJ-200, it has classic Gibson acoustic visual appeal, and the smaller body size makes it extremely comfortable and easy to hold and play. It produces superior warmth and a balanced tone due to Gibson’s exceptional handcrafted construction techniques, including a dovetail neck-to-body joint, a radiused top, and traditional scalloped X-bracing. The solid Sitka spruce top is beautifully finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. The solid rosewood back and sides are finished in satin nitrocellulose lacquer and feature multi-ply top and single-ply back binding. The cutaway body delivers excellent access to the entire length of the fretboard. The satin nitrocellulose lacquer-finished mahogany neck features an Advanced Response profile that many players feel is the perfect size–it’s not too slender or too beefy and sits comfortably in the hand for most players. It is topped with a bound rosewood fretboard with an easy-playing 16” fretboard radius. The fretboard is equipped with 19 standard frets and adorned with single parallelogram mother-of-pearl inlays. The Gibson headstock logo is also inlaid in mother-of-pearl. The nut, saddle, and bridge pins are TUSQ®, which, along with the smooth-turning gold-plated Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners, help ensure rock-solid tuning stability. The rosewood bridge features Gibson’s traditional belly-up orientation, while the pickguard is faux tortoise. The Gibson Parlor Rosewood EC comes outfitted with an L.R. Baggs™ VTC under-saddle piezo pickup and active preamp with conveniently located volume and tone controls hidden at the edge of the soundhole, so it’s ready to plug and play onstage or in the studio from the moment you take it out of the included modern hardshell case.
